The Counselor in Training (CIT) volunteer program is for Millstone students interested in an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with younger children. Participants will be placed with different groups throughout the day from grades 1-8. Emphasis is placed upon developing leadership skills while learning to work together. Participation in the CIT program is by selection and offers the opportunity to prepare for a position as a camp counselor. Those interested in the program must complete an application process, which includes an application, references, and an interview. Community service letters will be provided at the conclusion of the camp season.

Week 2: July 5 - July July 7 Week 4: July 17 - July 21
Week 5: July 24 - July 28
To be a Counselor in Training:
At a minimum applicants will be entering grade 11 as of September 2017.
CIT's must commit to 3 days per week.
CIT's may select one (1) or all five (5) weeks of camp.
CIT's will be scheduled in advance by the camp director.
Applicants must possess a genuine interest in working with younger campers, and be willing to commit the required energy, enthusiasm, and cooperation in all aspects of the training and hands-on portions of the program.
A positive and cooperative attitude and pleasant disposition are critical personal attributes for the position.
Applications will be accepted April 1 - June 26, 2017.
The references should be unrelated adults, such as teachers, group leaders, or other adults who know you well enough to evaluate your potential for working with children.
After your registration is received, you will be contacted by the Recreation Department to arrange a time for your interview.
Applications may be mailed or dropped off at the Recreation Department Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:00 p.m. For your convenience, applications can be placed in the drop box located on the front door of the Municipal Building.
