Cheerleading

Redbirds Competition Cheer - This is a competitive cheer program that is open to all participants who will be 5 years old by 7/31/2026 and generally runs from April - March. The season starts with clinics and conditioning that are used for team placements.  There are limited spaces available for each division, and everyone will be placed on a waitlist until teams are finalized in May/June.  All competitive cheerleaders must also register for the pre-season clinics which will be listed separately.

Pre-season runs April - May with a lighter practice schedule focused on conditioning and building fundamental cheer skills.  Teams are finalized by June and begin practicing 2 days per week.  1st Competition mid October.  If the team qualifies, it will advance to the Eastern Region competition held in NJ early November and then Nationals held in Orlando, Fl early December.  All cheerleaders must be willing and able to travel to Orlando, Fl if their team advances to Nationals.  Some teams will continue after Nationals until the end of February attending 1-3 more local competitions.  Costs will range approximately between $500 and $3000 depending on if the team qualifies for Nationals and whether a new uniform is needed.
